NYU Is 7th in the Nation!

In what is clearly the greatest competitive achievement in NYU Forensics history, NYU placed 7th in the nation at the 2006 NFA National Tournament. In addition to this ranking, placing NYU alongside the country's largest and most prestigious programs, NYU finished in first place in President's Division I, eclipsing all other programs of its size. Both NYU seniors broke into outrounds, with Cecille Gumabon repeating her status as a Quarter-Finalist in Rhetorical Criticism from AFA, and Liz Coleman Semi-Finaling Rhetorical Criticism, placing 5th in Impromptu, and - as at AFA - placing 2nd in Persuasion, winning Extemporaneous Speaking, and ranking as the second overall speaker in the nation. Liz, Cecille, and the entire team represented NYU and NYU Forensics fantastically and achieved what is truly a historic and extraordinary victory.

Our new crop of novices did quite nicely, with no fewer than eight awards amongst them. It was an auspicious beginning to what is sure to be another great year.
